Our story

This is the story of most expatriates who never imagined that one day they will leave their place of birth to work abroad, and being attached to one’s own country gives nostalgia and a bitter feeling of being distanced from home, community, history, and especially all the things that they love there. 

As for me and after each visit to Lebanon I always make sure to fill my luggages with delicious Lebanese food and products; kechek, eggplant makdous, olive oil, tomato jabaliye, soap, … It was always worth the long security checks at the airport and the extra weight charges.

Here in the UAE, a beautiful and welcoming place to live in, you become more and more attached towards everything from the land of the Cedars and you just wish that every Lebanese, every Emirati, and all foreigners living here could feel, touch and smell the beauty of Lebanon and the richness of its land. 

One way of keeping a piece of Lebanon with you is having access to the traditional, authentic food and products that might remind us of all the beautiful moments and memories we had or wanted to sense again.

From that yearning came the idea of “Min Baladeh” (From My Country), to create a bridge between local Lebanese farmers, producers, small scale merchants, entrepreneurs, artisans, non-profit organizations, and any person living in the UAE who would like to have a connection with this tiny but precious country.
